With Blood, Stones & Certain Beasts, COLLECTIVE OSLO initiated and produced an immersive exhibition bringing together Bjarne Melgaard, Bob Recine, VOID and Snøhetta. Set inside a 1,700 m² warehouse at Skur 13 in Oslo, the exhibition merged sculpture, hair, plastic, wreckage, light and live-generated sound into a charged, multi-sensory environment exploring artifice, flesh and the unstable space between beauty and brutality.

Combined Creations
Bob Recine and Bjarne Melgaard brought their practices into direct dialogue through a series of collaborative sculptures and installations. The works were developed through an exchange of making, modifying and intervening in one another’s materials, fusing their artistic universes while preserving the tension between their different perspectives and gestures.
Snøhetta extended this dialogue into the spatial structure of the exhibition, creating a series of interdependent pedestals that mirrored the silhouettes of the sculptures and added an architectural dimension to the encounter.

COLLECTIVE OSLO commissioned VOID to create a site-specific light installation for the exhibition, challenging traditional ways of displaying and experiencing art. Through moving light sources and unpredictable programmed behaviour, VOID transformed the warehouse into a dynamic environment where the monumental works appeared to shift, mutate and respond to the surrounding space.
To further intensify the experience, musicians and composers Bendik Baksaas and Kristoffer Eikrem created live-generated soundscapes, adding a compelling sonic layer to the exhibition’s atmosphere.
