David Andersen Signature: Transforming Jewelry Into Personal Identity

Setting the Scene

Created for David Andersen, the Signature collection explored jewelry as a form of personal expression rather than decoration alone. Inspired by Scandinavian modernism and archival David Andersen designs, the collection combined traditional craftsmanship with contemporary identity, positioning each piece as something deeply connected to individuality, memory, and self definition.

Building the Visual Language

In collaboration with David Andersen, COLLECTIVE OSLO co developed the concept and production for the Signature campaign. Designed and produced in Norway using recycled gold and silver, the collection became the foundation for a cinematic and emotionally driven campaign blending fashion photography, poetry, and digital experimentation into one layered visual universe.

Craftsmanship and Digital Expression

At the center of the campaign was the idea that jewelry can become part of a person’s identity over time. Model Nina Marker described the chain as a personal signature, reflecting individuality through everyday wear and emotional attachment. Alongside the campaign imagery, poet Caroline Krager contributed an original text exploring jewelry as memory, inheritance, intimacy, and connection across generations.

Photographed and filmed by internationally renowned photographer and filmmaker Sølve Sundsbø, the campaign merged cinematic realism with digital surrealism. In collaboration with digital designer Coline Cherry, oversized animated jewelry elements were integrated into the imagery, allowing the Signature collection to exist between physical craftsmanship and digital imagination. The result was a campaign balancing tactile heritage with contemporary experimentation.

Our Approach

Our approach focused on creating a campaign where jewelry functioned as emotional storytelling rather than luxury symbolism. Through the combination of cinematic photography, poetry, movement, and digital design, the campaign explored how objects can become extensions of memory, personality, and identity over time.

COLLECTIVE OSLO co led the concept development, production, and artistic direction together with David Andersen’s internal creative team. Every layer of the campaign was carefully developed to balance craftsmanship with innovation, allowing traditional jewelry making techniques to coexist with experimental digital expression. By integrating 3D animation, emotional writing, and tactile imagery into one cohesive visual language, the campaign positioned Signature as both a contemporary fashion statement and a deeply personal object.

David Andersen Autumn Winter 2022/23: Adorn Yourself With Your Story

Setting the Scene

Created for David Andersen, the Autumn Winter 2022/23 campaign explored the emotional and personal relationship between jewelry and identity. Rooted in nearly 150 years of craftsmanship and heritage, the campaign highlighted how jewelry can carry memory, strength, and personal history through generations while remaining deeply connected to contemporary life and individuality.

Shaping the Narrative

Developed in connection with the reopening of David Andersen’s restored flagship store at Egertorget, the campaign introduced both new and classic jewelry collections through the stories of three women with different backgrounds and experiences. Rather than focusing solely on the products themselves, the campaign centered on emotion, reflection, and the intimate moments people have with themselves in everyday life.

Personal Stories as Emotional Identity

Under the concept “Adorn Yourself With Your Story,” the campaign brought together themes of nostalgia, resilience, memory, and self expression. Through personal reflections from model and kindergarten teacher Dunia Abdi, cancer researcher Sunniva Stordal, and influencer and stylist Alice Wang, the campaign positioned jewelry as something deeply connected to identity and emotional experience rather than decoration alone.

Photographed and filmed by internationally renowned photographer and filmmaker Sølve Sundsbø, the visual universe balanced cinematic softness with emotional intensity. Known for his work with publications including Vogue and brands such as Chanel, Cartier, Prada, and Gucci, Sundsbø brought a sculptural and atmospheric quality to the campaign, marking one of his first productions in Norway since photographing the Norwegian Royal Family in 2011.

Our Approach

Our approach focused on building a campaign rooted in emotional storytelling rather than conventional luxury communication. Together with David Andersen, COLLECTIVE OSLO developed a visual and conceptual framework where personal identity, craftsmanship, and atmosphere became inseparable parts of the narrative.

COLLECTIVE OSLO led the production and artistic direction of the campaign, shaping everything from casting and visual tone to storytelling structure and creative execution. The imagery was designed to feel intimate and reflective, capturing moments of stillness, self recognition, and emotional strength. Through cinematic photography, layered storytelling, and understated styling, the campaign translated David Andersen’s heritage into a contemporary emotional language while reinforcing the timeless relationship between jewelry and personal memory.

David Andersen Tide: Translating Nature into a Contemporary Jewelry Narrative

Setting the Scene

Created as a limited edition collection for David Andersen, Tide was inspired by treasures washed ashore along the Norwegian coastline. Rooted in craftsmanship, materiality, and the raw beauty of nature, the collection explored the relationship between organic forms and contemporary jewelry design through a visual universe shaped by movement, texture, and atmosphere.

Shaping the Visual Universe

In close collaboration with David Andersen, COLLECTIVE OSLO co developed the creative concept and production for the Tide campaign. To capture the essence of the collection, the campaign was photographed and filmed along the southern Norwegian coastline, where natural landscapes became an extension of the jewelry itself. The visual identity balanced softness and rawness, reflecting both the craftsmanship and sculptural qualities of the pieces.

Nature as Narrative

Inspired by shells discovered along the shoreline, the Tide collection consisted of statement jewelry crafted in sterling silver and gold plated silver combined with freshwater pearls. Produced in collaboration with local artisans and hand woven in David Andersen’s workshop at Egertorget, the collection carried a strong connection to Norwegian craftsmanship and tactile material traditions.

Photographer and filmmaker Ignat Wiig captured the collection within dramatic coastal scenery, using natural light, movement, and texture to create a cinematic atmosphere around model Erle Moe. The result was a campaign that felt intimate, elemental, and emotionally grounded in the landscape that inspired the collection itself.

Our Approach

Our approach centered on creating a visual narrative where product, environment, and emotion became inseparable. Rather than presenting the jewelry in a traditional commercial setting, the campaign was developed as a sensory story inspired by the rhythm of the sea and the feeling of discovering hidden objects shaped by time and nature.

COLLECTIVE OSLO co led the concept development, production, and artistic direction of the campaign together with David Andersen’s internal creative team. Through cinematic imagery, natural environments, and carefully curated styling, the campaign highlighted both the sculptural qualities of the jewelry and the craftsmanship behind its creation. Every detail, from casting and weaving techniques to movement direction and location choice, was designed to strengthen the emotional identity of the Tide collection.
