UNWRAPPED: Showcasing Oslo’s Emerging Creative Voices
A one-night exhibition celebrating the next generation of artists, designers, and visual storytellers
In September 2022, Collective Oslo produced UNWRAPPED, a one-night-only exhibition dedicated to showcasing some of Oslo’s most exciting emerging creative talents. Hosted in the historic former artist restaurant Blom—reimagined as a gallery space by Adam & Eva—the exhibition created a platform for new artistic voices working across fashion, digital art, illustration, design, architecture, and visual storytelling.
Uncovering New Artistic Universes
Presented shortly after the launch of Collective Oslo’s art project PEELED, UNWRAPPED offered visitors an exclusive preview into the personal and creative worlds of seven contemporary artists. The exhibition was developed around the idea of revealing work in progress, experimentation, and artistic identity, giving audiences access to practices that often remain hidden behind finished projects and commercial outputs.
Curated by fashion designer and Collective Oslo project manager Malin Molden, the participating artists were discovered through an organic research process rooted in social media, community networks, and creative curiosity.
A Platform for New Talent
At the core of UNWRAPPED was Collective Oslo’s commitment to supporting and promoting emerging artists. The exhibition brought together creators from different disciplines, highlighting the diversity of contemporary artistic expression in Oslo while encouraging new connections across creative fields.
The exhibition featured digital art, motion graphics, fashion design, textile experimentation, architecture, visual storytelling, wigs as sculptural objects, tufted artworks, and illustration. Together, the artists created a multidisciplinary experience that reflected the energy, creativity, and cultural pulse of a new generation.
Our Approach
Collective Oslo conceived and produced UNWRAPPED as both an exhibition and a social gathering. By combining art presentation with an informal event format, the project encouraged dialogue between artists, audiences, and industry professionals.
The exhibition space was transformed into an environment where different creative practices could coexist and interact. Rather than separating disciplines, UNWRAPPED emphasized synergies between art forms, creating opportunities for collaboration, visibility, and exchange.
The project reflected Collective Oslo’s broader ambition to create platforms where emerging talent can be discovered, supported, and celebrated.
Curator Reflection
"It was my first time as a curator and I wanted to unwrap the more personal universes of the artists selected, without any boundaries."
