Lene McNair: Supporting Humanity Through Creativity, Breath and Connection
Combining artistic practice, wellbeing, and entrepreneurship to inspire positive change
Actress, producer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist Lene McNair has spent her career exploring the connection between creativity, personal growth, and human wellbeing. After nearly two decades in Los Angeles working within film and television, she relocated with her family to Tromsø, Northern Norway, where she co-founded The Arctic Villa and established Pusterommet (Breathing Room), a platform dedicated to the transformative power of breath and mindfulness.
A Life Shaped by Reinvention
McNair's professional journey spans acting, producing, entrepreneurship, and community building. Throughout her work, a common thread has remained: a desire to help people thrive and discover their own potential.
A significant turning point came in 2018 when she and her family moved from Los Angeles back to Norway. The relocation marked more than a geographical change; it became an opportunity to reconnect with herself, her surroundings, and a renewed sense of purpose. The experience strengthened her awareness of personal resilience and inspired a deeper exploration of wellbeing, healing, and self-development.
Creativity as a Tool for Growth
For McNair, creativity extends beyond artistic production. It serves as a means of supporting others, fostering connection, and encouraging positive change. Through Pusterommet, she works to increase awareness of how conscious breathing can influence both physical and mental wellbeing, helping people access greater balance and clarity in their everyday lives.
Alongside her husband, musician Gabrial McNair, she has developed The Arctic Villa into a multidisciplinary space that combines hospitality, music production, creative collaboration, and wellness initiatives.
Our Approach
Lene McNair contributed to the PEELED exhibition through her collaboration on the project's immersive soundscape. Working alongside Gabrial McNair, she helped create an auditory environment that supported the exhibition's exploration of vulnerability, transformation, and the human experience.
An expressive breathing composition formed part of the exhibition entrance experience, introducing visitors to themes of awareness, embodiment, and emotional presence. The soundscape became an integral layer within the overall exhibition, connecting the physical space with the emotional journeys explored by the participating artists.
Through her artistic and philanthropic work, McNair continues to bridge creativity, personal development, and community engagement, creating experiences designed to support both individual and collective wellbeing.
