A Constant Journey into the Future was a retrospective exhibition celebrating the visionary work of internationally acclaimed photographer Sølve Sundsbø. Bringing together some of his most experimental and technologically pioneering projects, the exhibition highlighted a career defined by curiosity, innovation, and a relentless pursuit of new visual possibilities.
Presented at the historic Høymagasinet within Akershus Fortress in Oslo, the exhibition offered audiences an immersive encounter with one of contemporary photography’s most influential creative voices.
A Visionary Approach

Immersive Visual Experiences
Large-scale photographic works were presented alongside a monumental six-meter-high film installation that transformed the exhibition space into a dynamic visual environment.
The moving-image work combined fragmented and evolving compositions, creating an ever-shifting creature-like form that continuously transformed before the audience. Through motion, scale, and immersive presentation, the installation reflected Sundsbø’s fascination with transformation, perception, and the possibilities of image-making beyond traditional photography.
Our Approach
Collective Oslo curated and produced the exhibition as a celebration of artistic experimentation and technological exploration. By presenting photography alongside large-scale moving-image installations, the exhibition emphasized the breadth of Sundsbø’s creative practice and his ongoing influence on contemporary visual culture.
The historic setting of Akershus Fortress provided a compelling contrast to the future-facing nature of the works, creating a dialogue between heritage, innovation, and artistic evolution.
